Wi-Fi
The wireless signal that connects your devices to your router without a cable.
Definition
The wireless signal, created by your router, that connects your phone, computer, tablet and other devices without a cable.
In plain English
Wi-Fi is local to your home or business. It's a different thing from your internet connection itself, even though a problem with either one can feel identical from where you're sitting.
Common confusion
A full Wi-Fi signal doesn't guarantee the internet is working — it only means your device can reach the router.
